TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Last Updated: 11 July 2025

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS & CONDITIONS CAREFULLY

www.jbconcretecoatingspecialists.com is a trading name of JB Concrete Coating Specialists. References to “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to JB Concrete Coating Specialists. References to “you”, “your”, “the client”, or “the customer” refer to the individual or business who has requested our services or engaged with us for a quotation or project.

By using our services, accepting an estimate, or making any form of payment towards an invoice, you are entering into a binding agreement with JB Concrete Coating Specialists and agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. General Terms

  • These Terms & Conditions form the entire agreement between us and you.

  • Verbal agreements are not legally binding unless confirmed in writing by us.

  • You must review these terms before accepting a quotation or using our services.

  • These terms are subject to change at any time. Please refer to this page for the most current version.

2. Estimates, Orders & Invoices

Estimates:
All estimates are issued via email and serve as a guide. Floor preparation and installation may require additional materials or labour not initially apparent. These costs will be outlined in an updated quote and will not be carried out without your approval and full payment.

Acceptance:
Clicking “accept” on an estimate or otherwise confirming in writing signifies agreement to these terms. Once accepted, your estimate becomes an invoice. A 5% fee will be charged for cancellations after accepting the estimate.

Payment Terms:
No dates will be secured, and no materials ordered until full cleared payment is received, unless otherwise agreed. For approved clients, we may offer a staged payment plan (50% deposit, 25% on delivery, 25% on the second day of installation). All goods remain our property until paid in full.

Late Payment:
Late payments may incur interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1999 and fixed fee compensation. After 30 days, debts may be passed to a debt recovery agency or enforced through court proceedings.

3. Cancellations & Postponements

  • Cancellations made after a deposit is paid are subject to a £250 admin fee.

  • Cancellations within 7 days of the start date may incur a £225/day/per fitter fee.

  • If you cancel after work has begun, you’ll be charged for all labour, materials used, and applicable cancellation fees.

  • Stock products may be returned within 14 days; bespoke orders cannot be cancelled once in production.

  • Materials returned may incur a 30% restocking fee and must be in re-sellable condition.

4. Installation Requirements

Before Installation:

  • Ensure rooms are clear of furniture, flooring, and belongings.

  • Skirting boards should be removed in advance unless otherwise agreed.

  • Tradespeople must not work in installation areas during our work.

Site Conditions:

  • Power, lighting, and heating (18–22°C) must be available during works.

  • Failure to meet conditions may result in postponement and incur fees.

Fitters’ Responsibility:

  • We are not liable for damage if asked to move furniture, skirting boards, appliances, or doors.

  • Fitters may refuse to work if unsafe or if site access is obstructed.

5. Subfloor Preparation & Technical Notes

  • We use industry-standard fixings and materials for floor preparation.

  • Subfloor must meet surface level tolerances depending on application (SR1–SR3).

  • We do not take responsibility for hidden electrical or plumbing issues under floors.

  • Latex screeds follow the subfloor contour — not always suitable for levelling.

6. Delivery

  • Delivery drivers are not required to enter your property. If they assist, we are not liable for damage.

  • You must inspect deliveries immediately and raise concerns on the same day.

7. Post Installation & Guarantees

Installation Guarantee:
We guarantee all installation work for 24 months. This excludes damage caused by misuse, poor building structure, or inadequate aftercare.

Product Warranty:
Product warranties vary by manufacturer. We supply guidance and documentation for all products used. Misuse or failure to follow aftercare instructions may void warranties.

Snagging:
Any snagging issues will be addressed promptly once the final balance is paid. Late payments may delay follow-up works.

8. Completion & Sign-Off

  • You or a nominated representative must be available on the final day for sign-off.

  • If no one is present, the job will be deemed complete and payment will be due in full.

  • If you’re based abroad or off-site, you have 10 days to raise any concerns post-completion.

9. Damage, Breakages & Redecoration

  • We are not liable for minor scuffs to walls, skirting, or décor caused during installation.

  • Newly decorated spaces must be allowed to cure for at least two weeks.

  • Any accidental damage will be reported immediately and discussed with the client.

  • We must be allowed the opportunity to resolve issues ourselves before third-party repairs are sought.

10. Customer Responsibilities

  • You must protect or remove all fragile, valuable, or electrical items from the area.

  • Assistance with large items may incur a charge and must be arranged in advance.

  • We reserve the right to refuse to move large or high-risk items.

11. Complaints & Disputes

How to Raise a Complaint:

Resolution Process:

  • We will respond in writing within 28 days of receiving your complaint.

  • If we cannot resolve the matter internally, we will refer you to the Dispute Resolution Ombudsman (0333 241 3209, www.disputeresolutionombudsman.org).

Review Platforms:
Customers must not post negative reviews or public commentary until the internal complaint process has been completed in full.
